Verify the path.

Firn is the supported installer for published Frostyard images. For a new system, choose one of the four bootc products and use the complete Snosi guide for media verification, disk selection, and recovery details.

Before installing

A clear target.
A readable backup.

01

Boot with UEFI

Firn requires UEFI. Hardware and security choices vary; installer availability is not a universal compatibility or Secure Boot guarantee.

02

Expect disk erasure

Installation erases the selected target disk. Back up what matters and verify that the backup is readable from another machine.

Native A/B and nbc lifecycle

Move to bootc
before September 30.

Native A/B images and systems installed with nbc reach end of support and routine publication on September 30, 2026. After that date Frostyard publishes no routine fixes, security updates, dependency refreshes, native images, or nbc packages for those systems.

There is no in-place conversion. Verify a readable backup, then reinstall with a bootc image for continued support.

Availability is not verification

Published here.
Measured separately.

An available installer artifact does not mean every installation lane or hardware combination has passed. Frostyard Lab reports current quality evidence separately and uses unproven when it retains no passing run.
